PPP – “Technical cooperation for the transfer of knowledge and technology with the aim of strengthening the training of professionals in efficiency management of material and energy in the industry of Guatemala with the support of the Guatemala Center of Clean Production”

Financial entity: GIZ, COPLAN, IFU HAMBURG and QES

Contributions to development: The project contributes the development of the capacity building for the energy and materials efficiency management in Guatemala Industry. This gives a technological base to the market developments in energy management based on the ISO 50 001. This project is used as a model for the other centers of clean production.

GICON-Chigorodó

PPP- Development of competences in sustainable management of organic wastes in Antioquia, Colombia
From July 2014 to June 2016
Financial entity: Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany (BMZ).

Contributions to development: This project contributes to the improvement of the economic and political frame in regards to the sustainable and efficient use of organic wastes in Colombia. It offers a solution in reducing the greenhouse gas emissions and environmental pollution, building a constituency of actors which will spark organic waste management for energy production.

Contributions to development: This project contributes to the improvement of the economic and political frame in regards to the sustainable and efficient use of resources of the Colombian industrial sector. It offers a solution in reducing the greenhouse gas emissions, as well as increases awareness concerning the use of resources for environmental sustainability, building a constituency of actors which will spark efficient management of materials and energy in the industrial sector.

PPP - Colombia: Sustainable transfer of technology in the photovoltaic sector of Colombia.

Construction of the competence center for the training of technicians in photovoltaic facilities at the National Learning Service (SENA) in Colombia.

Benefits of the development policy:

The ''Training for Trainers'' project sets the foundations for the training of installer technicians of photovoltaic panels of different technologies with qualified human capital and installed infrastructure. Different actors in the market can develop expertise in the training centers and thereby get to know the technology installed in two different regions of Colombia. The project contributes significantly in the short, medium and the long term, to the development of the market of solar energy generation in non-interconnected zones, as well as in areas not connected to the electricity network.
